BRATISLAVA, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Slovak Parliamentary Chairman Pavol Paska decided to resign from his post on Sunday in Kosice, according to the local news agency TASR.

"I take care about Slovakia and don't want to admit that some anarchists will make politics in the streets," said Paska.

The resignation of Paska was demanded by hundreds of protesters in Kosice and Bratislava, due to his involvement in the scandal of an overpriced CT (computerized tomography) scanner bought by Piestany Hospital in Western Slovakia. The protest was organized by independent MP Alojz Hlina.
